Weather Forecast [2nd draft]

It was a day WITH LIGHT WINDS AND SUNSHINE. Erick and Paul thought that it was a perfect day to go sailing ignoring what dad told them the night before "October is a dangerous month to go sailing. Nobody does it since Mr Banks and his son disappeared three years ago. Nature needs a rest. You should respect that too. Next month we all can go sailing and fishing everyday if you want to, but not these days. Even if the weather is good, you don't really want to mess around with Lake Hans." They did not believe a thing, they were sure that there must be some other explanation for Mr Banks and his son's death. The idea that the lake swallowed them because it was not the right season was completely insane. They were now old enough to believe in that kind of stories. Anyway, the weather had been awful over the past few days, so they hadn't had the opportunity to use dad's brand new boat.

Paul got up very early that Sunday. He looked through the window and realized that there were no clouds in the sky. He rapidly turned on the radio to listen to the weather forecast: It was going to be a little windy but quite sunny. He did not hesitate on waking Erick up and show him the great day it would be. In complete silence they got ready, they went to the kitchen and grabbed some snacks so they could have breakfast on the boat, they did not want to waste any other minute in the house; their parents could wake up at any moment. They took the van and the boat out trying not to make any noise that could wake up their parents; they even took Daphy, their akita, with them so she would not disturb their parents' sleep.

The lake was not far. They put the boat in the water as soon as they got there. They jump into it and told Daphy to go with them, she did not want to. They pulled her into the boat three times and she hopped off. They decided not to take her; they were already wasting a lot of time, so Daphy stayed on the shore but walking in circles and barking desperately.

Erick and Paul were happily sailing in the middle of the lake - "if Nature needs a rest, let's rest with it" - so they relaxed and lay back on the boat to enjoy that lovely Sunday. After a while, Erick started to feel dizzy. The boat was spinning slowly. He woke up Paul and they both saw Daphy quite alarmed, barking and howling as she was trying to warn them about something. They tried to get to the shore but the spinning was getting faster. Erick and Paul realized that they were in the middle of a whirlpool. They tried to reach Daphy, but she ran away.

After a while, Daphy came back to the lake with Erick and Paul's parents. There was nothing left anymore, just the quiet lake resting on a sunny October day.
